Nature drawing
Going on a long walk and observing things in the morning helped me feel inspired to draw.
I first started to experiment with the sharpening cuts and playing with them in different motions to make some interesting marks. After I went into my garden to made observational drawings with coloured art materials: crayon, gel pen, and pencil, observing what I do.
I noticed that keeping them simple made them look better
Also, contrasting colour to add contrast helped- but it doesn't need to be a naturalistic colour
Each drawing works in its own way
Keeping the style consistent helps make the overall piece look better
What I liked about this was playing with different techniques of mark-making and recycling materials and observing the different ways of seeing. Observing my focus whilst drawing- how it was non- frustrating as I was experimenting.
I am now going to look into the notion of ‘instruction’ and apply my findings into a poster to help me see what research I am missing and think about how I am going to work on this project.
