Beyond the Gender Binary

Feelings: Cannot go outside without being afraid for his safety.

“I do not have the luxury of being”

There is a lot of public dialogue about gender fluidity and other people's views, with little engagement with ‘the realities faced by gender non-conforming people’- this leads to misinformation.

(I need to research and react to the feelings and realities faced.)

“The emphasis on our appearance distracts us from the real focus: power”

Drawing in the way I did for the zine workshop in reaction to these words.

Ideas I have include: using the throwing effect from the logo workshop to illustrate clothes and the figure to emphasize: 'distracts us from the real focus'.

The next step is looking at zine art and layout that successfully conveys its message.

What are my feelings and worries approaching this subject?

: representation- everybody is different but I want to find the qualities of some people to react to the difficulties they face

Like the postcard expressionism reactions, I should react after and see how I can bring it together with my message of acceptance

(DEVELOPMENT IDEA: without a face and features by coming together throughout the pages in a zine

until the end- use phrase: we are 'Imagining a more kind and just world for everyone' (ref: page 32)

(I want to show a journey of their worries, feelings, struggles, and growth)
